A successful urban space is used space, and most urban space use is movement. The main purpose this study is to study pedestrian movement in small urban spaces, in order to provoke a sense of people-place awareness for architects and urban designers during the designing. The understanding of pedestrian and environment relationships will lead the designers to create a better urban place where social life --contacting between people-- can be stimulated. Meanwhile the developing new city has its own problems. People are living without street life and amenities. A claim for an absence of social life in urban space, in fact, stems from a lack of understanding of the dialectical nature of social and space relationship. Although the analysis of people's behavior in relation to their built environments is a major concern in the field of urban design, environment-behavior research is not considered sufficiently during most architects' design process. This research consists of two parts: a literature review of related work and a proposed method for studying pedestrian behavior and environment relationships. Urbanists and architects had written about the need for more understanding about people and place relationships, focussing on the study of pedestrian movement behaviors in relation to spatial organization of urban space. The core issues of investigation is pedestrian movement, there are environmental influence on pedestrian interaction and social activity, the effects of spatial characteristic of a built environment on pedestrian movement, and methods of observation and empirical works in a field of physical environment and pedestrian behavior.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melengkapi sarana praktikum mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Mesin Politeknik Negeri Pontianak (POLNEP) khususnya pada praktikum di Laboratorium Metrologi dan Pengujian Bahan. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan literatur yang ada sedangkan tahapannya dimulai dari studi literatur, perancangan/ desain, pembuatan dan perbaikan sehingga diperoleh alat uji yang sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku. Spesifikasi hasil rancangan dari alat uji Hardenability Jominy Test tersebut adalah: Debit Aliran 45 liter/menit, 90 watt, 2850 Rpm pipa PVC 1½", Panjang Pipa maksimum 33 mm, Suct L Maksimum 9 m rangka Besi Siku 40 x40 mm St 37, Drum Kapasitas 400 Liter Dengan penelitian ini, diharapkan melengkapi sarana pembelajaran praktikum yang sudah ada dan akhirnya dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemahaman mahasiswa dalam menambah pengetahuan dibidang pengetahuan bahan.

This study aims to determine the influence of kinetin on growth hormon explant seaweed K. alvarezii in vitro culture. Terjemahan Bahasa Indonesia ke Inggris. The result is expected to be one of information about the use of hormone kinetin in supporting efforts to increase the success of in vitro culture techniques K. alvarezii. This research was conducted in February to June 2010 in Tissue Culture Laboratory, Department of Fisheries, Agriculture Polytechnic State Pangkep. Technical implementation of the induction of callus. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and followed by Tukey test, to determine the closeness of the relationship as a response to the treatment of the observed parameters by using regression techniques correlation. The results of this study indicate that the concentration C (Conway 2 ppm + 0.8% BA + kinetin 0.6 ppm) and D (Conway 2 ppm + 0.8% BA + kinetin 0.8 ppm) have the same potency in inducing the formation of callus, and induced faster than the concentration of B (Conway 2 ppm + 0.4% BA + kinetin 0.4 ppm). The lower the percentage of explants induced by the increased concentration of kinetin hormon.

This research aims to detect factors influence sea grass production, case at Punaga village of village builder brackish water cultivation couch Takalar. This research is carried out at Punaga village that be builder regency brackish water couch Takalar in march until may 2009. The data is gatherred to pass observation method, interview with documentation. The data analysis that used to use regression analysis linear doubled constructively program SPSS (Draper and Smith's, 1992). The research result shows sea grass production function model based on test f got part existence very real (α = 0,05) from production factors use likes salinity (X1, current speed (X2, brightness (X3, temperature (X4 and labour (X5) towards kind sea grass production Kappaphycus alvarezii at Punaga village builder regency brackish water cultivation couch Takalar, where fcount (136,226) bigger than ftable (6,260) that mean as a whole influential production factors towards sea grass production. Coefficient correlation (R) = 0,997 show connection between free variable (X1-X5) with variable Y = sea grass production positive very strong because approaches 1 (one). Determination coefficient (R2) = 0,994 show that model precision good enough is interpretted that 99,40% sea grass production change determine according to together by several uses factors production that be free variable, while the rest 0,6% is not defined by production factors in this analysis model.
